Why does my playlist

I have the same problem on my iPhone 5S, and it is annoying. There may be a fix, however. Go to the Control Center, it seems you can start your playlist where you left off. I'd prefer to be able to do it in Music. Another thing I noticed. When you add albums to a playlist, it seems the "add all songs" button is missing.
