Ask students what difference it makes for people to think of themselves as sons or daughters of men, rather than sons or daughters of God. Ask several students to take turns reading Moses —24 aloud. Invite students to share how Moses was able to discern between being with God and being with Satan.
What changes occurred in Moses that enabled him to see God see verse 14? Your students could also discuss how to apply these principles as they discern between influences of good and evil in their lives today. How can you apply these principles when selecting the music you listen to, the places you go, or the friends with whom you associate see also Moroni —18? Invite three students to represent the narrator, Moses, and Satan by reading aloud their words from Moses — Invite students to share why they think the account of these experiences was preserved for our day.
Ask a student to read Moses aloud. But Michael the archangel, when contending with the devil he disputed about the body of Moses, durst not bring against him a railing judgment, but said, The Lord rebuke thee.

But Michael the archangel, when disputing with the devil he reasoned about the body of Moses, did not dare to bring a railing judgment against [him], but said, [The] Lord rebuke thee.
When Michael the archangel, disputing with the devil, contended about the body of Moses, he durst not bring against him the judgment of railing speech, but said: The Lord command thee. Not even the archangel Michael did this. Michael argued with the devil about who would have the body of Moses. But Michael did not dare to condemn even the devil for his false accusations.
But when the archangel Michael was disputing with the Devil and arguing about the body of Moses, he did not dare to bring a blasphemous condemnation against him. Yet Michael the Archangel, when he strove against the devil, and disputed about the body of Moses, durst not blame him with cursed speaking, but said, The Lord rebuke thee. When the archangel Michael argued with the devil, they were arguing over the body of Moses.
Not even the chief angel Michael did this. He argued with the devil about who would have the body of Moses. Michael did not dare to accuse the devil with insults. Even the archangel Michael, when he argued with the Devil and fought over the body of Moses, did not dare to bring a slanderous accusation against him. I want to remind you of something that you really know already: and although the Lord saved all the people from the land of Egypt, yet afterwards he brought to their downfall those who would not trust him.
Michael had to struggle or dispute with Satan about the body of Moses, but what that entailed is not described. Another ang Ruth Goldstein Early in the 1st century, there was a story in the Testament of Moses which was a Jewish writing.
Jude's account seems to give allusion to that legend. Because some of the pages of this Testament are missing, the following Jewish writings shed some light on the aforementioned. From the Jewish commentaries: " Deuteronomy Rabbah - There was a dispute about an hr.
Before Moses died. It was between the angel of death associated with the Adversary, satan and Michael satan's opponent. Targum Yonatan says that Michael was put in authority of watching Moses' tomb. It is thought that the Testament of Moses not scripture added that Michael was assigned to bury Moses. Why would there be a dispute over Moses' body? It may have been because Moses wasn't allowed to go into the Promised Land. Satan may have thought he could claim Moses for that reason.
The other possibility is that God knew that man would be tempted to worship Moses, who had developed a great reputation among Israel and the nations. Therefore, God never allowed man to know where Moses was buried. Deuteronomy It was God who was to be glorified in the miracles and wonders performed through Moses. However, Satan is in the business of trying to rob God of His glory.
Satan also is the one who deceives people into the ways of idol worship. If it had been known where Moses was buried, then it was possible for people to make pilgrimage to Moses' graveside and worship him. God wanted us to be left with the scriptures written by God through His servant, Moses. That's the remains we have from him. So, Satan could have thought he should have the right to claim Moses because Moses wasn't allowed to go into the Promised Land. Satan also could have intended to make an idol of Moses, and thus attempt to rob God of His glory.
One other conclusion could be that satan could have considered it to be payback time for all that God had done through Moses. Whatever the reason, God reminded satan that it was God who had the final word in the situation. God would make sure that Moses would have the proper burial fitting for someone deemed "the most humble man," who carried the title, "the servant of God.
Look at the intimate relationship God had with Moses. God and Moses were very much close friends.
