Oliver is constantly at Jackson's throughout this episode and he helps Jackson with his apartment falling apart. In the second part of the finale of Season 3, Miley struggles with actually moving, and worse: telling Lilly.
Oliver comes and when he talks to Miley, it is revealed that the band who lives above Jackson is going on tour and they asked Oliver, who they saw on America's Next Top Talent to come with them. They both shower Lilly with their love and affection for the day, and when they tell her, Miley, Lilly, and Oliver are saddened by seperation.
Miley tells her father that this can't be the right thing to do if it makes her and the people she loves so unhappy. Her dad tells her he knew this from the time she told him, and though they are moving out of the house, he shows her that he bought a ranch near the beach where it feels like Tennesee and Blue Jeans will have room to roam freely.
The show ends with Miley looking at the empty house she's lived in for so long after her summer vacation, then walking away from it. The beach and the Stewarts' first house in Los Angeles was never seen again. Hannah Montana had an alternate ending that changed after one scene with Miley and her best friend Lilly Truscott Emily Osment. In the prior scene, the two said their farewells at an airport. Miley was off to film a movie, and Lilly was going to college.
The next scene was where the alternate version differed from the real ending. The Hannah Montana alternate ending took viewers 12 years back to Tennessee. After the best friends get into a huge fight, Miley decides to invite Lilly with her to Paris. She ultimately passed on the movie to be in college with her bestie. During the interview for her Elle Magazine July cover story, Miley revealed the moment she wanted to break out of her Hannah Montana shell and move on from the show.
It got weird. It just felt like … I was grown up. Billy Ray also talked about possibly working on a Hannah Montana prequel. It turns out that the final chapter of Hannah Montana almost ended a little differently — but actress Emily Osment AKA Lily used her improvisation skills to alter the course of the dialogue.
As we all remember, the Disney show ended with that iconic hug between Hannah and Lily in the dorm doorway. In the final moments, Hannah says, "I love you so much," and Lily happily answers: "I know.
